Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area unfolded its anticipated Year 2024 Budget Presentation under the theme “Budget of Strategic Socioeconomic Transformation and Growth.” boasting a total budget size of 2,346,405,949.59.
Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, the Executive Chairman, took the podium to convey the essence of the budget, asserting, “Y2024 Budget contains visionary policies and programmes that are set to improve the local economy of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, dictated by needs analysis and the popular yearnings of our electorate.” He outlined a commitment to a significant shift, aiming to enhance the internally generated revenue outlook through an ambitious program of comprehensive reform.
Daini expressed the intention to stimulate vibrant revenue officers for greater performance, acknowledging the complexities in the operational environment and highlighting a critical and holistic evaluation of the revenue structure.
Daini, welcomed a distinguished array of guests, including Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, former member of the Lagos state house of assembly, Hon. Gbenga Oshin, former member of the Lagos state house of assembly, Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, former Council Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Hon. Olugbenga Basanya, former Council Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Taiwo Orenuga, former Executive Secretary of the LCDA Adeboruwa in Council, Olubeshe in Council, CAN, Muslim Communities, Market Men and Women, Artisans, CDC, Ward Chairmen, Igbogbo/baiyeku LCDA Exco, Management/Staff and other Apex APC Leaders,
Before the budget presentation took center stage, Hon. Mathew Arowolo, the House Majority Leader from Ward C4, steered the proceedings by passing a motion for urgent intervention on all inner roads across the LCDA, leveraging the effective operation of the Council grader. This motion found swift support as Hon. Basirat Adetutu Banjoko seconded the motion.
Arowolo, not stopping at the roads, further moved a motion to address the pressing need for classroom construction at Oshorun Primary School.
The momentum continued as Hon. Basirat Adetutu Banjoko proposed and Hon. Hakeem Solawon seconded motions for the Oba Ija Olu road construction, health center upgrade, and the construction of a drainage system in front of the health center, marking a united front for the holistic development of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
