Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Empower Children/Youths on Skill Training

Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) marked the conclusion of its 2024 skill acquisition training program with a grand graduation ceremony at the Adeboruwa Palace. The initiative, which commenced on July 29th with over 300 participants, was a collaborative effort between the LCDA, Sunglow Business Concept, and Hon. Sikiru Ogunfowora Ojora, who were instrumental in the program’s success.

The skill acquisition training program aimed to empower residents, particularly the youth, by equipping them with practical skills across nine diverse departments. The departments included Catering, Makeup and Gele (head-tie styling), Tie and Dye, Nylon Production, Fabric Design, Home Essentials, Organic Product Production, and Barbing. Over the course of the training, participants were taught by experienced professionals, ensuring they received comprehensive, hands-on experience in their chosen fields.

The graduation ceremony celebrated the hard work and dedication of the participants, as many of whom showcased the skills they had acquired during the training. The atmosphere at the Adeboruwa Palace was filled with excitement and pride as graduates demonstrated their new abilities, from intricate gele styling and barbing techniques to innovative tie and dye patterns and organic product formulations.

In a special segment of the event, the Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA presented cash gift prizes to children in primary school who participated in the program and emerged as the best students in their respective departments and charged all the participants to make effective use of their talents.
