Grassroots Football Excitement Builds as Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Chairman’s Cup Fixtures Unveiled

The bustling community of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA is set to witness an exhilarating display of grassroots football talent with another edition of the Chairman’s Cup, sponsored by the esteemed Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, Executive Chairman of the LCDA. The tournament, slated to become an annual event, promises to be a platform for nurturing local talent and fostering youth engagement for a prosperous society.

With fixtures unveiled and anticipation building, the preliminary stage of the tournament is set to commence on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024. The opening match will see Oba Adeboruwa Estate clash with Adegbosé FC at 3pm, marking the beginning of an action-packed series of games.

Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, in a statement, expressed his commitment to supporting the tournament even after his tenure, emphasizing the importance of engaging the youth in constructive activities for community development. “I am proud to sponsor this tournament, and I pledge to continue supporting such initiatives that empower our youth long after my time in office,” remarked Chairman Daini.

The tournament features teams from various communities within the LCDA, divided into six groups. Group A consists of Adeboruwa Estate, Bashogun FC, Adegbosé FC, and Otugbuwa FC, while Group B includes Itun Nla FC, Oseni FC, Odudu FC, and Agunfoye FC.

In Group C, Oga Oloye FC, Bayeku Stars, Agbele FC, and Ajose FC will vie for supremacy, while Group D sees Oliwo Amoju, Zumratul United, Ija Olu United, and Olumo FC compete for advancement.

The competition intensifies in Group E, where Oreyo FC, Baba Ode FC, Awobo FC, and Ward C4 FC will battle it out. Lastly, Group F comprises Ward C3 FC, Tunji Shokefun FC, Aiyegbami FC, and Igbe FC, rounding up the competitive field.

Mr. Obayomi Adeoye, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for 2024, and Com. Baoku Kabir, the Technical Director, expressed their enthusiasm for the tournament’s potential to showcase local talent and unite communities through sports.

As the stage is set and anticipation reaches a fever pitch, all eyes are on the Chairman’s Cup, poised to become a cornerstone of sporting excellence and community development in Igbo Bayeku LCDA.
